Do “Animal” Type Vacuum Cleaners Really Do a Good Job?

There are so many vacuum cleaners on the market these days, all claiming to make your life easier when it comes to keeping your home clean.

Animal hair in carpets and upholstery is a common problem we come across when cleaning for our residential clients.

You might be surprised to learn that there a lot of free, more effective ways to clean pet hair than investing in the latest all singing, all dancing, ball, cylinder, cyclone, atom bomb hoover.

One of our favorite, cost effective and time saving methods is simply a wet marigold glove or two. All you need to do is dip your marigold clad hands in a bowl of water and wipe your stairs or sofa, towards yourself, the pet hair will clump together as it gets damp and brush off onto your gloves, repeat until you reach the bottom.

A damp cloth will work in the same manner.

We have used almost every type of hoover available on the market, and our own hoovers are Dyson multi floors, comparing the multi floor to the animal, we have seen little difference in the ability to pick up pet hair between the two machines. In fact the only markable difference between these two machines is the colour, but neither are any comparison to a bit of elbow grease.
